Occasionally, you may need to rename a set of images for use on your PhotoBiz account. If you have an Apple computer running OSx Yosemite, there is an easy way to rename a batch of images rather than renaming them one by one.
First, navigate to your images in your Finder and select or highlight the images you'd like to rename.
Right-click (or Control-click) on the selected files and choose Rename X Items.
After you click on Rename X Items, a new window will appear with a drop down field that offers three options:
Replace Text allows you to replace specific parts of the existing file name format, i.e. replace "IMG" with "image"
Add Text allows you to add additional text to the beginning or end of the existing file name.
Format allows you to completely change the file name. This is what most people choose when doing a batch rename. Within this option, you can choose Name and Index to create a custom name with a numbered sequence, Name and Counter to create a custom name with a counter, or Name and Date to create a custom name with the date.
The example below is using the Format option with the Name and Index setting.
After you've selected your preferences for renaming your images, click on the Rename button to finish.
